OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 21, 2026–Dunn Ranch has unveiled another early-season standout, as Hott Pursuit has quickly asserted himself atop the 2026 Quarter Horse and APHA first-year sire standings.
He is currently the only freshman sire with a two-year-old stakes winner this season, a distinction that has set him apart in the opening weeks of the year.
The young stallion’s momentum began building over the weekend with his first three winners. On March 19, Gipsie Rose broke her maiden with a 1¼-length victory, posting a 90 speed index in 15.463 seconds. That same day, Panther Pursuit followed suit with a gate-to-wire maiden win, stopping the clock in 15.627.
On March 21 Remington Park, Hott Pursuit made a decisive statement on the stakes stage. His daughter, Zazas Hasta Luego delivered his first stakes winner in the $35,000 Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Juvenile on March 21.
Breaking first from the gate, Zazas Hasta Luego took command early and never relinquished it, holding off Dulce Dinero from gate to wire by three-quarters of a length. The post-time favorite covered 300 yards in 15.518 seconds into a 6 mph headwind, solidifying her status as a rising prospect.
Her path to the winner’s circle was anything but straightforward. After finishing third at 10-1 in her trial, she returned as the 2-1 favorite in the final and justified the support with a front-running effort.
The victory added $13,711 to her bankroll, pushing her earnings to $14,316 from just two starts. Bred and owned by Russell and Melissa Trull, the filly is trained by Kasey Willis and was ridden by Jonathan Dominguez.
With that performance, In Hott Pursuit became the first freshman sire of 2026 to sire a stakes winner, further strengthening his early lead among first-year stallions by earnings.
In Hott Pursuit, a son of leading sire One Famous Eagle, out of Pandorum by Tres Seis, was bred in Texas by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranch, LLC and raced by his owner Dunn Ranch. He was a $220,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling graduate in 2020 and a proven runner on the track.
In Hott Pursuit won or placed in eight of 10 career starts and earned $358,218. His resume includes a runner-up finish in the Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1), a third in the Golden State Million Futurity (G1), and a finalist effort in the Los Alamitos Super Derby (G1).
His sire, One Famous Eagle SI 101 ($1,387,453), is one of the most influential stallions in the modern era, with 93 stakes winners, 10 champions, and six millionaires to his credit. His progeny have earned more than $41.3 million.
Hott Pursuit’s dam, Pandorum SI 109 ($70,347, NTR), is a Grade 3-winning Tres Seis mare who was honored as an AQHA Dam of Distinction in 2025. She has produced four black-type runners, including two-time champion Hotstepper SI 98 ($1,336,359, All American Derby-G1), Grade 1 winner Hotsempting SI 99 ($682,739, Ruidoso QH Derby-G1), and Hott Temptation SI 98 ($356,696).
His second dam, Daring Diversion SI 98, is stakes-placed and by Strawfly Special. She is a half-sister to stakes winner Ethics Aside SI 106 ($99,644), stakes winner Sweet Oblivion SI 110 ($55,704), and G3-placed Splendifferous SI 104 ($73,231). The family also traces to world champion and champion sire Special Leader SI 103 ($292,605) and champion sire Mr Eye Opener SI 106 ($202,978).
