KAPLAN, LA–FEBRUARY 17, 2926–Jeriko, a multiple Grade 1-winner and millionaire earner, has died at the age of five.
A 2020 brown gelding bred and owned by Hall of Fame horseman Bobby D. Cox, Jeriko was sired by champion One Famous Eagle and out of the Shazoom mare Signs Zoomer, a winning mare also owned by Cox.
Over 20 starts, Jeriko won 10 races and earned $1,013,172. His major victories came in the 2023 Los Alamitos Super Derby (G1) and the 2024 Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship (G1).
Beyond his Grade 1 wins, Jeriko finished second in the Vessels Maturity (G1), Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1), and in his final start, the 2025 Champion of Champions (G1), where he was narrowly defeated by eventual 2025 World Champion FDD Dreams.
Jeriko was honored as the 2023 PCQHRA Champion 3-Year-Old Gelding and later named Supreme Race Horse, recognized during the 2025 AQHA Champions Awards.
