WYNNEWOOD, OK–NOVEMBER 19, 2025–Dunn Ranch is proud to announce that multiple Grade 1 winner Stanley Cartel will stand the 2026 breeding season at their Ranch in Wynnewood, OK. Bred by Weetona Stanley, the four-year-old son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon is co-owned by Stanley in partnership with Dunn Ranch.
Stanley Cartel has been nothing short of a force on the racetrack. Dominant and unflinching, he has won 9 of his 11 career starts, including four stakes victories, making him the only stallion with two Grade 1 wins in 2025.
His résumé speaks for itself: victories in the Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship (G1), Vessels Maturity (G1), Southern California Derby (G2), and the Sgt Pepper Feature Handicap. The only two times he didn’t reach the winner’s circle, he finished second in the Kaweah Bar Handicap (G3) and qualified for the Los Alamitos Super Derby (G1).
Speed is his calling card. On October 11, 2025, he posted the fastest 440-yard time of the year at Los Alamitos, stopping the clock in 21.458 seconds. He also recorded the fastest 300-yard time of 2024 on May 4.
With that kind of consistency at the highest level, it’s no surprise he enters the fall as the #1 leading contender for 2025 Aged Champion. His next stop: the Champion of Champions on December 13 at Los Alamitos.
Stanley Cartel is sired by leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon, whose progeny have earned more than $43.7 million and include stakes winners, such as champion The Fiscal Cliff ($580,425), Curls Happy Wagon ($360,674), Mystic Paint ($341,856, 2025), Hooked N Gone ($791,231, 2025), and Mr Pyc To You ($488,820).
He’s backed by one of the industry’s most desired female families. Stanley Cartel is a full brother to millionaire sires Pyc Fun N Fancy ($478,760) and Ima A Fancy Pyc ($454,764).
His dam, the stakes-producing First Prize Fancy, has produced 39 starters, 30 winners, and six stakes winners, including Pyc Fun N Fancy ($478,760), Ima A Fancy Pyc ($454,764), Weetonas Lafawn ($179,500), First Fancy Prize ($113,804), and Fast N Fancy ($90,255). She is also the granddam of multiple stakes winners such as Apolitical Wagon ($139,997) and First Famous Prize ($107,448).
His second dam is the Blue Hen Mare First Prize Dash, an AQHA Dam of Distinction and Broodmare of the Year. She produced 35 starters, 28 winners, and ten black-type performers, including winners of the Heritage Place Futurity (G1) and Remington Park Futurity (G1), along with the #9 all-time leading sire of money earners Heza Fast Dash.
First Prize Dash is also a full sister to legendary First Down Dash, the #1 leading world champion sire of all time.
This female line has produced some of the sport’s most recognizable names, including champion Dark NME SI 110 ($1,739,485), Grade 1 winners Apolltical Chad SI 95 ($930,730), Ms First Prize Rose SI 101 ($550,105), Aint She Tempting ($727,427), and influential sires Coronado Cartel ($416,178) and First Timber, a Canadian Champion sire.
After competing in the Champion of Champions, Stanley Cartel will return to Oklahoma to begin his stallion career. He will stand the 2026 breeding season at Dunn Ranch, where demand is already high. Breeders are encouraged to join the waitlist now—slots are filling fast.
