Dansing Queeen and jockey Alonso Rivera rally from a troubled start to win the $60,525 Cherry Creek Futurity on July 5 at Arapahoe Park.

AURORA, CO–JULY 5, 2026–Fastest qualifier Dansing Queeen overcame a troubled start and finished strongly to capture the $60,525 Cherry Creek Futurity at Arapahoe Park on Sunday afternoon.

Ridden by Alonso Rivera, Dansing Queeen hopped at the start but rallied with powerful late strides to prevail by a nose in the 350-yard futurity. The Colorado-bred filly stopped the clock in :17.907 and earned a 95 speed index while collecting the $36,315 winner's share of the purse.

A homebred for Dr. Susan Raymond, DVM, Dansing Queeen is trained by James Gonzales II. The daughter of B Cause Im A Hero is out of the Apollitical Jess mare Apollitical Senorita.

The victory was her second from three career starts and increased her earnings to $44,530.

Second-fastest qualifier Tahitis French Kiss crossed the wire second after setting the pace under Fernando Fonseca-Soto. The filly drifted out late but held on for the runner-up position while posting a time of :17.914 and a 95 speed index.

A homebred for Francisco Cornejo, Tahitis French Kiss is trained by Haley Hobbs. The daughter of Kiss My Hocks is out of the Wave Carver mare Tahiti Wave.

The runner-up effort pushed her record to 5-2-2-0 with earnings of $33,945.

Fanze Girl finished third under Mauro Rodriguez for trainer Edy Arturo Ontiveros and owner-breeder La Despedida Racing LLC. Despite spinning out at the start, the filly delivered a strong effort to earn the show position in :17.974 with a 93 speed index.

The daughter of PYC Fun N Fancy is out of the First Down Dash mare BP First Down Policy. The Cherry Creek Futurity marked her first career top-three finish, improving her earnings total to $7,269.

Second Whiskey finished fourth and was followed by Ms Dash It, Lovin Corona, Monday Dream N Paint, Flare In Her Vains, and Poise N Ivory. Sorrypappybyhouston was scratched.
