JT Midlife Crisis and jockey Roman Cruz post the fastest qualifying time to the $170,476 Speedhorse Futurity (G3) at Fair Meadows on July 3.

TULSA, OK–JULY 3, 2026–Seven trials were contested Friday night at Fair Meadows to determine the field for the $170,476 Speedhorse Futurity (G3), with JT Midlife Crisis posting the fastest qualifying time of the evening.

Ridden by Roman Cruz, JT Midlife Crisis dominated the seventh and final trial, drawing off to a 2¼-length victory while stopping the clock in :17.520 for a 102 speed index, the only triple-digit figure of the night.

Bred, owned, and trained by Jeffrey Tyer, the gelding is sired by Tell Cartel and out of the Real Visions mare Wranglers Vision. Coming off a finalist effort in the Easy Jet Stakes (G2), JT Midlife Crisis improved his record to 4-3-0-0 with earnings of $39,317. He broke on top, seized command immediately, and was never challenged on his way to the fastest qualifying mark.

Whiskey Doc secured the second-fastest qualifying time after winning the opening trial in :17.655 with a 97 speed index. Under Cody Smith, the Stacey Capps trainee dueled throughout before edging clear by three-quarters of a length.

The homebred son of Docs Dusty Cartel out of the Tac It Like A Man mare Jls Tacitlikejohn races for Dusty Rose Ranch LLC and now sports a record of 5-2-1-1 with earnings of $69,933. His previous two starts resulted in stakes placings, including a runner-up finish in the Easy Jet Stakes (G2) and a third-place effort in the Laico Bird Stakes (G3).

Cyber Storm 918 recorded the third-fastest qualifying time when cruising to a one-length victory in the fifth trial. Guided by Roman Cruz, the Dee Keener trainee stopped the timer in :17.749 and earned a 94 speed index.

The 918 Bloodstock-owned gelding is bred by Dr. Jay Ross and is by Cyber Monday out of the One Sweet Jess mare Kool Jess. The victory was his third consecutive win and improved his record to 4-3-0-0 with earnings of $27,367. He broke on top and was always in command.

The Speedhorse Futurity (G3) final is scheduled for July 18 at Fair Meadows.
