POCATELLO, ID–MAY 25, 2026–MV Goldheart Foose and jockey Luis Cruz Ruiz rallied late to capture the $22,400 Gary & Sherilyn Blattner Memorial at Pocatello Downs on Sunday, covering the 350 yards in :17.582 seconds for a 101 speed index. The Idaho-bred filly surged in the closing strides to earn the biggest victory of her career.

Bred by Andrea and Eddie Jensen, with Eddie Jensen also owning the filly, MV Goldheart Foose is trained by Tony Hyde. The bay filly is sired by Gold Heart Eagle V and out of the winning Foose mare Royal Fooseperrypie.

The victory improved her record to 7-2-2-1 with earnings of $17,792 after collecting the $10,304 winner’s share of the purse.

BG Follow My Lead and jockey Jose Figueroa finished second after overcoming a slow start to post a strong effort. Bred by Mike and Jay Lynn Hester, the dual-registered gelding is owned by Scott and Sherry Erickson and trained by Wasey Erickson.

Sired by Capo De Capi and out of the Judys Lineage mare Skip Away Shadow, BG Follow My Lead earned a 99 speed index with a time of :17.619 seconds while making just his second career start.

KR Cartels Calamity and jockey Cesar Moreno finished third after breaking in the air at the start. The colt was bred by Kidd Ranch and is owned by Luis Gonzales and trained by Abelardo Gonzalez.

A $12,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate, the son of champion Five Bar Cartel is out of the Foose mare KR Calamity. His female family includes stakes winner KR Dragonfly ($158,607). KR Cartels Calamity now sports a record of 10-4-2-2 with earnings of $66,477 after previously winning the 2025 Beehive Futurity and finishing third in the Far West Futurity.

Cash Me Lew finished fourth and was followed by EC Stryker, H Two O Girl, Slreasonwithattitude, R Dash Of Fire, and RGR Blacklabelbuzz. Fire In The Whole was scratched from the race.
