LOS ALAMITOS, CA–DECEMBER 14, 2025–Valeriano Racing Stables LLC and trainer Jesus Nunez dominated the $30,000 Los Alamitos $2 Million Juvenile Stakes on Sunday at Los Alamitos by finishing one-two in the 350-yard event for 2-year-olds.
Jarvis V led the stablemates home to secure the victory, stopping the timer in 17.622 seconds on a fast track and earning $16,500 for the win. Ridden by Francisco Calderon, the sorrel gelding held firm late to prevail by three-quarters of a neck.
Jarvis V is a son of leading living sire Apollitical Jess out of Donelli by Big Daddy Cartel. He was bred in New Mexico by MJ Farms.
The win marked his first stakes score and pushed his bankroll to $25,050 from seven career starts with a record of one win, three seconds, and one third. Earlier this season, he finished fourth in the Ah Sigh Handicap.
Stablemate Hell On Wheels V completed the exacta, giving Valeriano Racing Stables LLC and Nunez a decisive one-two finish. The bay gelding was guided by Jose Nicasio and battled gamely to the wire in second.
Also a son of Apollitical Jess, Hell On Wheels V is out of Trendi by Stoli and was bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock LLC. Still looking to break his maiden, he has now earned $16,960 with three seconds and four thirds from nine starts and previously placed fifth in the Ah Sigh Handicap earlier this season.
Sm My Valentine finished third to round out the trifecta. Owned by Santos Montemayor and Omar Torres and trained by Adan Farias, the sorrel gelding was ridden by Eduardo Nicasio. The son of Kiss My Hocks is out of Jess Master by Apollitical Jess and was bred in California by Santos Montemayor. A proven graded stakes winner, he captured the PCQHRA Breeders Futurity-G2 earlier this season and now owns $116,972 in earnings from eight starts.
Behind the top three, Terry Mesu finished fourth, followed by Fireworks Over Paris in fifth, Cierto in sixth, and Cowboy Country 123 seventh to complete the order of finish.
