PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 17, 2025—Wicked Cowgirl Smart delivered a sharp and determined performance to capture the $27,800 Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes at Turf Paradise on Monday afternoon.
Contesting the 300-yard sprint for 3-year-olds and up, the filly broke alertly under jockey Kevin Carbajal. She held her advantage throughout to win in 15.229 seconds, earning a 110 speed index over a fast track with no wind recorded. The victory was worth $16,402 to her connections.
Wicked Cowgirl Smart, a multiple stakes winning 4-year-old bay filly by leading sire Flying Cowboy 123 out of Df I Aint Jo Wagon, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, was bred in Arizona by J Lazy Six Ranch and races for J Lazy Six Racing.
Trained by David Williams, she displayed her characteristic early speed and maintained a half-length advantage at the wire to secure the stakes triumph in driving fashion. Wicked Cowgirl Smart pushed her record to eight wins in 17 starts and earnings of $144,663.

The 4-year-old filly is by leading sire Eye Am King out of Bigg Alice, by Big Daddy Cartel, and was bred in New Mexico by MJ Farms.
Owned by LG Racing LLC and trained by Gilberto Canales, she was ridden by Gabriel Medrano and earned $5,282 for her runner-up effort, boosting her earnings to $83,789. Royal Post, who finished a half-length behind the winner, was purchased for $30,000 at the 2022 Ruidoso New Mexico-Bred Yearling Sale.
Basking completed the trifecta, finishing a nose behind the runner-up. The 4-year-old filly is by leading sire Tres Seis out of Scoop of Sunshine, by First Down Dash, and was bred in Oklahoma by Double Bar S Ranch LLC.
She races for J Lazy Six Racing, is trained by David Williams, and was ridden by Noe Garcia. Her third-place finish was worth $2,780, and she previously sold for $48,000 at the 2022 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. A three-time winner, Basking has earned $66,302.
Wicked Cowgirl Smart returned $21.20 to win, $7.60 to place, and $3.60 to show. Royal Post paid $4.20 to place and $2.80 to show. Basking returned $3.80 to show.
Rockin Jo Kool, Shiny Nova, Jess Mr Mayito, Cd Favorite Lady, Tell Jones, and Jessaprimadonna completed the field.
