ROCK SPRINGS, WY—SEPTEMBER 27, 2025—In the Vee, a sorrel gelding by Junior June Bug out of Brindis Secret by Brindis Por Cayenne, broke sharply and held strong in the final strides to win the $183,350 WABRA Wyoming Bred Quarter Horse Futurity at Sweetwater Downs on Saturday afternoon.
Covering the 300-yard dash in 15.223 seconds, the Wyoming-bred posted a 106 speed index over a fast track with no wind.
The homebred of Dan or Kim Lapierre is owned by Eddie Jensen, conditioned by Jess Matt, and was ridden to victory by Cordarelton Benn. The victory was worth $73,340 for the winning connections. In The Vee recorded his fifth career win in eight starts and doubled his bankroll to $147,735 with the victory.
In The Vee won the Bucking Horse Sale Futurity in Miles City last May and was third in the Wyoming Bred Futurity and fourth in the Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity over the summer.

Runner-up honors went to Zoomin Diamond, a brown gelding by Zoomin Moonflash out of Pritzis Diamond Lil by Desirio. Bred and owned by Rick Hillstead, the juvenile is trained by his owner and was piloted by Jesus Virgen. Zoomin Diamond closed strongly from the outside but came up a head short, earning $36,670 for second place, bringing his earnings to $49,050.
Miss Pollys Train, a gray filly by world champion sire Freighttrain B out of Political Bedlam by Apollitical Jess, finished third for breeder/owner Bill Doenz.
Trained by Josh Taylor and ridden by Julian Zavala, she showed early speed before being caught in the final strides, earning $18,335 for her effort. A finalist in the Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity in July, she has earned $64,092.
Pari-mutuel payoffs returned $10.20 to win, $5.80 to place, and $3.60 to show on In The Vee. Zoomin Diamond returned $7.20 to place and $6.80 to show, while Miss Pollys Train paid $3.80 to show.
Tiny Surfer, Mv Paint Me Jess, Dontimakeitlookeasy, Kcross Lever Action, A Tilted Taste, and Flying Rocco completed the order of finish.
