ALTOONA, IA–SEPTEMBER 27, 2025–Ab Boogie left no room for doubt in Saturday’s $70,000 Terrace Hill Stakes at Prairie Meadows, blasting from the gates as the heavy 1-5 favorite and controlling the 400-yard dash from start to finish.
Under Alfredo Triana Jr., Ab Boogie crossed the wire in 19.813 seconds with a 92 speed index, three-quarters of a length ahead of his nearest rival. The victory added $34,300 to his account.
Manuel Campos conditions the multiple stakes winner, who had been knocking on the door all season with runner-up finishes in the Bob Moore Memorial Stakes-G2 and Keokuk Stakes-G3, and a third in the Cy-Hawk Stakes. Saturday marked his first victory of the year after seven stakes appearances.
He was also a finalist in the Debbie Schauf Remington Park Invitational Championship-G1, Leo Stakes-G1, and Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge-G2. A four-time stakes winner, his other victories include the Cy-Hawk Stakes, Polk County Derby, and Cyclone Derby last season.

Boogies Legacy Racing Stables, LLC owns the son of Apollitical Blood. He was bred in Iowa by Ruben Mojica out of Boogie Wagon, by Lil Kool Wagon.
Officer Smith broke inward when bumped at the start but quickly recovered and launched a strong rally to finish second under Miguel Ramirez, a neck in front of his stablemate Cowboy 123.
The sorrel son of Apollitical Jess is out of Heros Queen, by Valiant Hero. He was bred in Iowa by Kirk K. Wessels, races for B/B Wessels LLC, and is trained by Alex Wessels.
Officer Smith has 14 career starts with three wins and four seconds for earnings of $73,042. Earlier this year he also finished second in the Cy-Hawk Stakes.
Cowboy 123 kept on steadily for third with Cristian Esqueda in the irons. The 4-year-old gelding has 14 starts with five wins, two seconds, and four thirds for $124,121 in earnings. He was also a finalist in the Keokuk Stakes-G3 and Cy-Hawk Stakes this season.
Cowboy 123 is by Flying Cowboy 123 and out of Corona Carmelita, by Corona Cartel. He was bred in Iowa by Paragon Farms LLC, is owned by Stephen Moyle, and trained by Alex Wessels, giving the barn both second and third.
The remaining order of finish is Call a Runaway, Flying Finn, and Lil Quick as a Wink.
