GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–SEPTEMBER 25, 2025–Even after a bumpy start, Jackson Davis 747 proved unstoppable as he surged late to capture the $10,950 TPHBA Juvenile (not black type) on Thursday evening at Lone Star Park.
Jackson Davis 747 completed the 330-yard sprint in 16.809 seconds, earning a 93 speed index while setting a new APHA track record for the distance. The post-time favorite’s victory paid $3.60 to win.
With Eliazar Vera in the irons, the son of leading second-year-sire Chilitos rallied powerfully to edge out Fourcrossnews by a neck and secure his third consecutive stakes victory of the season. The effort was worth $6,459 to his connections.
Earlier in the year, Jackson Davis 747 won the TPHBA Juvenile Stakes and Alamo P&A Futurity at Retama Park, and was a finalist in the Colors of Houston Futurity (G2). The Texas-bred colt is trained by Manuel Roman for owners Val Gonzalez and Tonya Trower Gonzalez.
He was bred by Courtney Watson and is out of the mare Shes a Cartel Girl, by The Louisiana Cartel. Thursday’s score boosted his seasonal earnings to $46,822 from four wins in seven starts.
Runner-up Fourcrossnews, sent off at 32-1, chased gamely under jockey Nestor Duran to finish just a neck behind the winner in 16.851 seconds with a 92 speed index. The effort paid $18.80 to place on a $2.00 wager.
The Texas-bred gelding by Painted Turnpike is out of Deflash, by Decash, and was bred by Four Cross Horse Co. Owned and trained by Randall Read, Fourcrossnews now has one win and a pair of stakes finalist appearances on his résumé, including the G.C.F.A. P&A Juvenile and TPHBA Juvenile earlier this season.
Third-place honors went to Mrs Pyc Painted Nova, who flashed early speed from the inside post under Ali Rivera before holding on for show money. The Texas-bred sorrel filly is by Little Pyc and out of Get Down Jessie, by Get Down Perry.
She was bred and is owned by Michael Read and is conditioned by Randall Read. Mrs Pyc Painted Nova, who stopped the clock in 16.872 seconds with a 91 speed index, has earned black type earlier this season with a third-place effort in the Colors of Houston Futurity (G2). She continues to prove competitive at the stakes level, including a finalist in the TPHBA Juvenile, Alamo P&A Futurity, and Victoria Ennis Memorial.
The remaining order of finish was Just an Eagle fourth, Wl Post Malone fifth, Cholulaa sixth, Sinnin Hot Pepper seventh, and Pt Chrome Spots eighth.
