MALAD CITY, ID—AUGUST 10, 2025—Overcoming a sluggish start, Cd Tempt Da Cartel unleashed a powerful late kick to win Sunday’s $5,800 Ireland Bank Overnight Futurity (not black type) at the Oneida County Fair, covering 300 yards in 15.654 seconds and earning a speed index of 90.

With a 5-mph crosswind on a fast track, the sorrel gelding edged Jr Dynasty Chick by a neck, with Amazon Delivers another neck back in third.

Owned by Daniel and Carol L. Lee and Ed McNelis, Cd Tempt Da Cartel is trained by Javier Fuentes and was ridden to victory by Oscar Villa. Bred in Wyoming by Blaine S. Bateman, the 2-year-old gelding is by Kiss My Hocks out of Allyson Wonderland, by Apollitical Jess. The $3,480 winner’s share of the purse boosted his career bankroll. To $4,580 after three starts.

Runner-up Jr Dynasty Chick, a brown filly by Jr Dynasty Mountain out of Desired Chick by Agouti, is owned and trained by Cesar Luna and was bred in Nevada by Jeffery Feliberto Luna. Angel Armenta had the riding assignment. She earned $1,450 for the second-place effort, rallying gamely despite being bumped mid-race.

Third-place finisher Amazon Delivers, a brown gelding by Jess Go Easier out of Princess Stel, by Stel Corona, is owned and trained by Bruce Hillman, with Jesus Virgen in the irons. Bred in Wyoming by Terry Hillman, Amazon Delivers earned $870 after stumbling midway through the race.

Pari-mutuel payoffs: Cd Tempt Da Cartel paid $4.80 to win, $2.40 to place, and $2.80 to show; Jr Dynasty Chick returned $3.00 to place and $2.20 to show; Amazon Delivers paid $2.40 to show.

The remaining order of finish was Arnold, Flashin Paige, Cd Favorite Aj, Cd Driftin Da Wagon, and Er Sexy Moon.
