VINTON, LA—AUGUST 9, 2025—Two-time restricted stakes winner RF Fast Dash N Blood again proved his class Saturday evening at Delta Downs, setting the fastest qualifying time from nine trials to the $534,640 LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1) for accredited Louisiana-bred 2-year-olds who went through the 2024 LQHBA Yearling Sale.
The 350-yard final is scheduled for Saturday, August 30.
Racing for owner Jaime Cardenas and trained by Miguel A. Castillo, RF Fast Dash N Blood broke out slightly but rallied strongly to win the sixth trial by three-quarters of a length in 17.613 seconds, a 95 speed index.
Bred by Rogers Farm (Tim and Jennie Rogers), the $80,000 LQHBA Sale graduate is a gelded son of champion sire Apollitical Blood out of Fast Dash N Deb, by Heza Fast Dash.
Already a standout in his freshman season, he has won five of seven career starts and earned $482,401, capturing both the $288,595 Laddie Futurity(RG2) in May and the $597,622 Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity(RG1) in July, and was a finalist in the Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2). Jorge Javier Garcia had the riding call.
The second-fastest qualifier, Fantsy Man Train, also from the sixth trial, showed early speed from the inside post before being caught late by the favorite. The $80,000 LQHBA Sale purchase stopped the clock in 17.729, a 92 speed index.
A gelded son of world champion sire Freighttrain B out of Fantsy Pants, by Splash Bac, he is bred by Grant Farms LLC and races for Party Tyme Racing.
Jose R. Espinosa conditions the bay, with Noe Castaneda in the irons of the gelding, who was third in the Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity(RG1) in his last start. He has earned $70,057.
Ten Plus turned in the third-fastest qualifying mark of the day, cruising to victory in the seventh trial with a time of 17.896, an 87 speed index.
The $30,000 LQHBA Sale graduate is a gelding by second-crop sire Gold Heart Eagle V out of champion Volcom Bay, by Volcom, bred by Bennie and Terri Jeter.
Owned by Jose R. Espinosa and Robert Witsiepe, he was trained by Espinosa and ridden by Castaneda. He was fourth in the Laddie Juvenile Stakes and has earned $15,200 in five starts.
