TULSA, OK—SATURDAY, JULY 19, 2025— On Saturday evening at Fair Meadows in Tulsa, Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby surged to victory in the $79,898 Grade 1 Speedhorse Paint and Appaloosa Futurity-G1, contested over 350 yards on a fast dirt track.

The sorrel gelding stopped the clock in 17.954 seconds against a 15-mph headwind, earning an 88 speed index. Jesus Ruiz conditions the colt, and Roman Cruz guided him from post two, where he dueled gamely before holding off posttime favorite Turpike Jammer by a determined neck at the wire.

The winner’s share of $30,361 boosted his lifetime earnings to $43,206. This marked Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby’s second win in five career starts, and his second stakes final appearance following his Grade 1 Oklahoma P&A Futurity effort earlier in the season.

Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby, a son of Flying Cowboy 123, is out of Cuz Eyema Livewire, by Crm Livewire. He was bred by Gary and Charity Hensley, who also own the gelding.

Turnpike Jammer, sent off as the narrow favorite, delivered a tenacious performance from the outside post under Erik Esqueda. Bred by Roy Kent Perkins, the colt is by Painted Turnpike and out of Mammy Jammer, by Crm Livewire.

Owned by Carla Akers and Randy D. Perkins, Turnpike Jammer matched strides early before finishing just a neck behind the winner. Trained by Ray Enlow, he picked up $13,583 to push his career bankroll to $53,678, bolstered by a previous runner-up effort in the PSBA American P&A Classic Futurity-G1.

Cancel Culture chased the top pair throughout to finish three-quarters of a length behind in third, rounding out the trifecta. Piloted by Jesus Ayala for trainer Dee Keener, Cancel Culture is owned by 918 Bloodstock and was bred in Oklahoma by Wendy L. Ingersoll.

The Painted Turnpike gelding is out of Quick Caydee, by Country Quick Dash. He clocked in at 18.127 seconds with an 83 speed index and earned $8,789, pushing his earnings to $23,777 from five career starts.

The remainder of the field finished in the following order: Gigis Gucci Glasses, Flight Risk, Old Habits New Tricks, Pretty Lil Poison, Showin You Some Kvn, The Babes Babe, and Mamasletthembecowboys.
