Flash Me A Corona, ridden by Ricardo Moreno, wins the All Canadian Derby on Saturday at Century Mile.

EDMONTON, ALB–JULY 19, 2025–Flash Me A Corona delivered a commanding performance on a muddy track Saturday afternoon to win the $16,392 (USD) All Canadian Derby at Century Mile.

Flash Me A Corona crossed the wire in 17.985 seconds, earning a 91 speed index and finishing 1 1/2 lengths in front. Breaking from post six, the brown gelding by Obsessed With Corona surged past his rivals early and never looked back under jockey Ricardo Moreno.

This win marks his fifth from six starts this season, including prior stakes wins in the Millarville Maturity and Century Mile Horsemen’s Derby Division 1. Flash Me A Corona has now lit the board in 13 of 14 starts with $62,177 in career earning.

The Ralph Danard-bred gelding is out of Look Back Moonflash by First Moonflash. The $7,400 AQHRA Yearling Mixed Sale graduate is trained by Craig Smith for owners Janet Patriquin and Ralph E. Danard.

Longshot Inseperable Cruise rallied late to secure second by a head over Sizzles Boss, finishing in 18.186 seconds. The sorrel gelding bred, owned and trained by Tom Kenway in Alberta is out of My Serious Time, by Inseperable

The son of Bd Cruiser was ridden by Martin Ortiz. Though still a maiden after 10 starts, he has collected $13,209 in earnings.

Third-place finisher Sizzles Boss turned in a game effort from the outside post, finishing just a neck back of Inseperable Cruise. The son of Jd Wagon Boss recorded 18.195 seconds for the show. He is out of Northfork Sizzle by Sizzlin Red Corona, bred in Alberta by K. Glenn Wills.

From 10 career starts, he now boasts $63,802 in earnings, with notable placings in the Century Mile Derby Challenge Stakes and Horsemen’s Derby Division 1. Owned by Cinch Up Syndicate, trained by Buckey Stockwell, and ridden by O. Hernandez, Sizzles Boss was a $11,500 purchase at the 2023 AQHRA Yearling Mixed Sale.

Rjs Boss, Fabulous Persuasion, Fabulous Show Off and Kc Ticket To Win round out the order of finish.
