GILLETTE, WY—MAY 26, 2025—In an electrifying comeback, Denali Snowflake, a 9-year-old mare who hadn’t raced since 2020, surged up the inside rail to win the $16,000 Bulldogger Overnight Stakes at Energy Downs 307 Racing, completing the 110-yard dash in 6.918 seconds and earning a 96 speed index.
Breaking sharply from the rail under jockey Jayden Ironeyes, Denali Snowflake showed remarkable early foot and sustained her momentum to hold off a late charge from Game for Corona Hot.
The veteran Oklahoma-bred mare, trained and owned by Gerardo Herrera, collected the $8,000 winner’s share and reminded race fans of her class and consistency from earlier in her career.
Foaled in 2016 and sired by Louisiana Senator out of One Famous Folly by One Famous Eagle, Denali Snowflake came into Monday’s race with a career that included 14 starts, 6 wins, and 3 second-place finishes, amassing $43,957 in earnings. Her last appearance had been at Arapahoe Park in July 2020. Despite the nearly five-year gap, she returned to the races with the form of a seasoned professional.
Runner-up Game For Corona Hot, a 5-year-old mare by Salt Point Bay out of Passtheflower by Game Patriot, finished just a half-length behind. Ridden by Jose Arriola-Serrano for trainer Ricardo Robles and RR Racing Stables, she drifted in through the stretch. Game For Corona Hot earned $2,880 for her effort.
Finishing third was Dirty Jan Boy, a 5-year-old sorrel gelding by Dustin Pro, out of Antonios Jan by Sir Antonio, who broke sharply and briefly led before being passed late. Trained and owned by Jose Rivas Guzman and ridden by Minor Arana, he finished third to earn a $1,600 payday.
Also-rans included Ivorybudsnblossoms , Vvr Dianas Angel, and two dead-heated for sixth: Ud Cholula and Dg Armageddon. Chavez Legacy, Yo Barely A Glance, and 2-1 favorite Ud Goldenboy completed the order of finish. Ud Goldenboy was fractious in the gate and compromised his chance with an airborne break.
The race was contested over a dirt track rated “Good” under cloudy skies and a 15-mph headwind.
Wagering returns included a $12.80 win payout for Denali Snowflake. The $2 exacta (1-10) returned $44.20, while the $1 trifecta (1-10-5) paid $215.90.
With this dramatic victory, Denali Snowflake added a bold exclamation point to a career already marked by talent—and now, by resilience.
