Richrollnwagon Wins Saturday Feature at Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–APRIL 24, 2025—It was a hard-fought battle to the wire among three horses in the featured allowance race Saturday night at Remington Park. When they hit the wire like synchronized swimmers on this wet night, jockey Mario Delgado got Richrollnwagon’s head in front after 400 yards.

The other two strong competitors to the end were Axle D and Deutsch, who dead-heated for second, only a head behind in the photo finish. It was difficult to tell who among the three was the actual winner live, but when the slow-motion replay was played back on the big screen in the infield, a scream from about half the town of Spencer, Okla., rose to the high heavens.

Trainer Elferrelaureano Broom, the pride of Spencer, brings about half the town with him to support his horses. They crowded together in the winner’s circle to pump fists, slap hands and love on Richrollnwagon as they had their picture taken.

Delgado received good fortune in this race. Leading rider Juan Pulido was scheduled to ride Richrollnwagon on this night, but Delgado was named to ride before the races started.

Richrollnwagon, a 5-year-old Oklahoma-bred gelded son of Prized Wagon, out of the Best Advice mare VW Lucky Advice, was sent off at 6-1 odds and paid $14.40 to win, $3.80 to place and $3.60 to show. He earned $19,725 from the $35,220 purse and improved his career record to 13 starts, four wins, one second and three thirds for $57,667 in earnings for the owner, who just happens to be Broom as well. Vickie Wyman bred the gelding.

It was the second win in Richrollnwagon’s last three races, and that’s now two wins in a row on off tracks. He won Saturday night over a muddy surface, and he also won at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla., on Nov. 4, 2024, on a sloppy track. It also was his second trip to the winner’s circle at Remington Park in five tries.

Axle D, one of the two runners-up, was the betting favorite at post-time at 8-5 odds. Deutsch was 7-1.

Richrollnwagon’s win along with Coale Train (15-1) in the seventh race, Forever Midnight (2-1 favorite) in the eighth and A Sweet Arthur (9-2) in the ninth completed the 50-cent late pick 4 that paid $2,174.15.

Remington Park racing continues Sunday with first post time of 4 p.m. CDT.
