$330,000 Apollitical Jess Colts Tops 47th Annual Heritage Place September Yearling Sale

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–SEPTEMBER 20, 2025–AQHA Champion Breeder Bobby D. Cox paid $330,000 in the closing session today for Hip #862 Conspired Agenda, the 2025 sale-topper in the 47th Annual Heritage Place September Yearling Sale. 

The four-day sale, which began on Wednesday, reported 765 yearlings from the 903 passing through the sales ring, grossing receipts of $25,780,600. The average was $33,740, and the median was $23,000.

"Day 4 of the sale presented the highest seller of the catalog for $330,000. The top 20 for the sale is an impressive group of horses with quality and pedigree," Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney said late Saturday.

"The overall sale average on horses sold was down single digits from 2024, with a steady 85% of the horses marked sold, as it has been through all four sessions.

"Heritage Place would like to thank all consignors, buyers, and all staff associated with the sale for an outstanding week of Quarter Horse Yearlings.  The American Quarter Horse Racing Industry has grown in numbers, and we are excited to continue to offer a marketplace for the industry for which this company was founded.

"We wish everyone much success and look forward to another great offering in the Fall Mixed Sale next month," he concluded.

Cavenaugh Quarter Horses LLC consigned the sale-topper, Hip # 862 Conspired Agenda, an Apollitical Jess colt from the stakes-winning and multiple stakes-producing Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Veuve Clicquot. This is the family of the champion Feature Hero.

Saturday's second high-seller, Hip 964 Tymetogojoe, was purchased for $225,000 by William F. Harned. South Fork Equine LLC, Agent for South Fork Equine/LS Racing Inc., consigned the son of champion Hes Relentless from the champion filly Pj Chick In Black. Tymetogojoe is a half-sibling to five black type, including Sooner State Stakes(G1) winner Hes Limitless and Bob Moore Memorial Stakes(G2) winner Ls Jacks Back.

MRB Racing LLC paid $200,000 for Saturday's third high-seller Hip 920 Jess Loaded, a colt by leading sire Apollitical Jess. Cavenaugh Quarter Horses LLC consigned the colt out of the Shazoom mare Reloaded And Ready. Jess Loaded is the brother of Ruidoso Derby Challenge winner Great Grace. This is the family of champion Four Forty Blast and Grade 1 winner and leading sire Holland Ease.

Bobby D. Cox was the sale's leading buyer, with five purchases totaling $905,000. Equestix Consulting LLC paid $593,000 for 15 head, and Jose R. Espinosa bought 10 yearlings for $502,000.

Marty Powers, Agent for Flag Ranch LLC, was the sale's leading consignor and/or agent with 19 head selling for gross receipts of $1,607,000. Dunn Ranch, Agent had 66 head bring $1,474,000, and Rancho El Cabresto Inc. sold 18 yearlings for $1,362,000.

Apollitical Jess was the sale's leading sire (by average, two or more sold) with 46 yearlings at $79,217. Hes Relentless sold 46 for $64,760, and Kiss My Hocks averaged $62,289 on 45 yearlings.  Golden Boi was the first crop sale sire leader (by average, two or more sold) with 10 head for $33,400.
