SHELBYVILLE, IN–SEPTEMBER 12, 2025–The Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana (QHRAI) kicked off its 15th Annual Yearling Speed Sale, which will be conducted exclusively online in 2025, with bidding opening today (September 12) at 8:00 a.m. EDT and closing at 2:00 p.m. EDT on September 14.
Interested buyers must register to participate in the auction through qhrai.dvauction.com. Only yearlings sold in this online event will be eligible to enter the $30,000-added Allowance Race, requiring a $300 entry fee.
Opportunities for Indiana Bred Owners
The sale is closely tied to the Indiana Bred Program, which continues to provide significant incentives for horsemen. Highlights include:
> An estimated $500,000 in Breed Development Awards
is projected for 2026.
> More than $3.5 million in purse money available to Indiana
Bred owners in 2026.
> In 2024, over $2.5 million was distributed in purse money,
with an additional $375,000 awarded through Breed
Development Awards.
These benefits underscore the association’s continued push to promote Indiana-bred Quarter Horses and reward participation in the state program.
