$400,000 Sale Topper Pushes Ruidoso NM Bred Night One Numbers Up

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM–AUGUST 8, 2025–A $400,000 sale-topper helped opening night numbers of the Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Quarter Horse Yearling Sale increase over last year's same night.

All American Ruidoso Horse Sales, LLC reported gross receipts of $1,637,700 on 55 of the 69 state-bred Quarter Horse yearlings sold in the opening session on Friday. This compares with $875,000 for 31 Quarter Horse yearlings sold on the same night in 2024.

The average rose 5% to $29,776 compared to $28,225 on night one last year. The median increased 20% from $15,000 in 2024 to $18,000 on night one of 2025.

Rancho El 48, LLC paid $400,000 for Friday's sale-topper, Hip 94 Out Post. MJ Farms, Agent, consigned the son of leading New Mexico sire Eye Am King from the Dash To Fame mare Tangled Vines. The gelding is a full or half-sibling to eight black type horses, including RG2 winner Pick Your Pour and RG3 winner Rex Hill.

MJ Farms, Agent, also consigned Friday's second high-seller, Hip 92 Kings Wine. Tungsten Racing Partnership paid $138,000 for the Eye Am King half-brother to RG3 winner Alamos. The gelding is out of Anakena, by Woodbridge.

Renee Wilson signed a $72,000 ticket for Friday's third high-seller, Hip 102 T Twisted Dynasty, a colt by multiple stakes sire Bogart from the Tres Seis mare T Tornado Seis. MJ Farms, Agent, consigned the bay gelding from the family of stakes winners C Twister Seis and Political Twist.

Rancho El 48, LLC was the day 1 leading buyer, with one purchase for $400,000. Tungsten Racing Partnership had two yearlings for $168,000, and Renee Wilson had two for $119,000.

MJ Farms, Agent, was the leading consignor or agent with nine head grossing $777,500. La Feliz Montana Ranch, LLC sold six head for $137,000 and Double LL Farms, Agent, had 11 head gross $105,000.

Eye Am King was the leading sale sire by average (2 or more sold) on day 1 with seven yearlings or $101,429. Bogard had an average $41,375, and Big Daddy Cartel saw 11 an average $25,227. Elmer was the leading first sale-crop sire (2 or more sold) with a $19,600 average on five head.
