FARGO, ND–JULY 17, 2026–Saturday afternoon at North Dakota Horse Park will feature an eight-race card beginning at noon, with the spotlight on the $10,000 NDQHRA Dash for Cash Quarter Horse Stakes. A field of six accomplished North Dakota-Breds, ages three and up, will line up in race six to sprint 220 yards, promising to be one of the day's most competitive events.
Im Rip has been installed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite following another productive season. The four-year-old gelding has made four starts in 2026, winning twice, including a victory in the North Dakota Bred Stakes. Already an eight-time winner, he has consistently proven himself among the state's top Quarter Horses and returns looking to add another stakes victory to his résumé.
Owned and bred in North Dakota by Tyrell R. Moody, Im Rip is a son of Rip Tide, out of the Cowboys Cartel mare Cowboywannab. Cole Wilson conditions the talented gelding, who will break from post two with Kody Kellenberger aboard.
His chief rival appears to be Lil Rider, the 5-2 second choice on the morning line. The five-year-old mare already has a victory over Im Rip this season, edging him by a nose in an allowance race. She has enjoyed another strong campaign, with three wins this year, bringing her career total to 11 victories and $74,948 in earnings.
Bred and owned by Ronald W. Addicott, Lil Rider is a daughter of PYC Fun N Fancy, out of the Dashair mare Park Avenue Air. Ronald Addicott trains the accomplished mare, who will leave from the rail with Ricardo Martinez in the saddle.
With two of North Dakota's top runners renewing their rivalry in a quick 220-yard dash, Saturday's NDQHRA Dash for Cash Quarter Horse Stakes is shaping up to be an exciting showdown. Fans can expect a fast, competitive race as the state's leading North Dakota-breds battle for another stakes victory at North Dakota Horse Park.
