Delta Downs hosts the $25,000 Mother’s Day Stakes on Saturday May 9.

VINTON, LA–May 7, 2026—The Saturday night card at Delta Downs will feature the $25,000 Mother’s Day Stakes as the headline event on a nine-race program scheduled to begin at 6:15 PM. A competitive field of eight fillies and mares will line up in the eighth race of the evening, set to cover 350 yards with an approximate post time of 9:10 PM.

Leading the field from the rail is 2-1 morning line favorite Jj Jessa Dynasty. The accomplished four-year-old mare has remained consistent throughout the 2026 season, making four starts while recording three runner-up finishes and one third-place effort. She enters the stakes with six career victories and earnings of $99,928 for owners Jorge Alan Bazaldua, Jr. and trainer Jose Carrizales.

The Texas-bred mare is sired by Jess an Meteorite out of the Fdd Dynasty mare Jb Chic Dynasty and was bred by J & J Stables, LLC. Veteran jockey Randy Edison, Jr. returns aboard for trainer Jose Carrizales as the pair break from post position one.

With proven stakes talent, experienced veterans, and a strong group of mares set to battle under the lights, the $25,000 Mother’s Day Stakes shapes up as one of the most exciting races of the evening at Delta Downs. Fans and bettors can expect a thrilling dash to the wire as these talented fillies and mares sprint 350 yards for the Mother’s Day title.
