Strong Stakes Night Set For Sunday At Hipódromo De Las Américas

MEXICO CITY, MEX–DECEMBER 20, 2025On Sunday, December 21, Hipódromo de las Américas will present an eleven-race card featuring some of the top Quarter Horse talent in Mexico. The program includes four major stakes events: the $11,651 Mexican Breeders Juvenile, the $29,749 Champion of Champions Classic-G3, the $43,374 Championship Juvenile, and the $159,264 Mexican Breeders Futurity. The first post is scheduled for approximately 2:00 (EST).

Stakes action begins in race eight with the $11,651 Mexican Breeders Juvenile, featuring the second ten fastest qualifiers from the November 30 trial heats.

The field will sprint 400 yards with post time set for approximately 6:40 (EST). Dk El Canelo leads the ten-horse field as the 3-1 morning line favorite. The two-year-old colt is sired by Danny Cartel and out of Paint Me Golden by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. Bred in Mexico by Cuadra La Presita, he races for Cuadra LEA.

Dk El Canelo is a two-time winner and multiple stakes qualifier with earnings of $40,224 from nine career starts. Juan Antonio Vega trains the colt, who will break from post nine with Arturo Vega Moreno in the saddle.

The ninth race features the prestigious $29,749 Champion of Champions Classic-G3 at 440 yards for three-year-olds and upward.

Hiclass And Grand is the 2-1 morning line favorites. The six-year-old stallion has recorded ten victories and four runner-up finishes while earning $119,688 for Cuadra Santa Elena.

Sired by Fdd Going Grand and out of Hiclass Little Lilly by Hiclass La Jolla, he was bred in the United States by Harold M. Jeanotte. Joaquin Ramon Pelaez Cortes conditions the veteran runner, who will race from post three with Alejandro Gomez is returning to ride.

Six accomplished runners will compete for the Champion of Champions Classic title.

Race ten brings together eight juveniles in the $43,374 Championship Juvenile at 400 yards. Ccb Rich Ranch Boy headlines the field as the 5-2 morning line favorite. The two-year-old colt has started three times, winning twice and finishing second once, while earning $6,244 for Cuadra Cartas Blancas.

Sired by Corona Cartel and out of Budder Than Ever, he was bred in the United States by Double Bar S Ranch, LLC. Jorge Alberto Ruiz Periban trains the colt, who will start from the rail in post one with Miguel Angel Rodriguez aboard.

The eleventh and final race of the evening features the $159,264 Mexican Breeders Futurity at 400 yards, showcasing ten Mexico-bred juveniles who qualified from the November 30 trials. Post time is approximately 20:10.

El Ilusionista Sr headlines the field as the 5-2 morning line favorite after posting the second-fastest qualifying time. The Swingin Good Reason gelding is out of Muscles Diablo, a daughter of Valiant Hero, and was bred by Rancho Santa Rosa Chiapas.

He has won five of seven starts, including the $19,200 Mexican Bred Futurity Challenge Consolation, and has earned $26,545 for owners Cuadra San Martin. Luis Enrique Cruz Solis trains El Ilusionista Sr, who will break from post seven with Nestor Duran aboard.
