PHOENIX, AZ–November 12, 2025—The Monday afternoon card at Turf Paradise will showcase an eight-race program highlighted by the $27,800-added Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes, a 300-yard dash for three-year-olds and older. A full field of ten runners is slated to break from the gates at approximately 1:45 PM.
Leading the lineup is Royal Post, the 3-1 morning line favorite. The four-year-old mare, sired by Eye Am King and out of Bigg Alice by Big Daddy Cartel, was bred in New Mexico by MJ Farms. Purchased by LG Racing, LLC for $30,000 at the Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yearling Sale, Royal Post has proven to be a model of consistency under the care of trainer Gilberto Canales. A two-time winner with seven runner-up finishes, she has amassed earnings of $78,507. Royal Post will break from post position nine with Jacob Enriquez aboard.
The second choice on the morning line at 4-1 is Basking, another seasoned four-year-old mare. Sired by Tres Seis and out of Scoop of Sunshine by First Down Dash, Basking was bred in Oklahoma by Double Bar S Ranch, LLC, and purchased by J Lazy Six Racing for $48,000 at the Heritage Place Sale. She brings a record of three wins, five seconds, and seven thirds to the race, with career earnings of $63,522. Trainer David John Williams will saddle her from post position four with Noe Garcia in the irons.
With a deep and competitive field assembled, the Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes promises a thrilling finish as some of the region’s top short-distance specialists vie for the winner’s share of the $27,800 purse.
