ATLOONA, IA–September 21, 2025–The Monday evening card at Prairie Meadows will kick off with the $30,000 Prairie Dash Stakes, where a compact but talented field of three-year-olds and upward will dash 300 yards. Post time for race one is scheduled for approximately 4:00 PM.

Installed as the 8-5 morning line favorite, the veteran Dickey Bob will look to turn the tables on familiar rival Relentlessly Fast. A ten-year-old gelding by Apollitical Jess out of Paint Or More (by Pyc Paint Your Wagon), Dickey Bob was bred in Minnesota by his owners, Lunderborg, LLC. A model of consistency, he has won 32 races and amassed $529,119 in earnings.

Dickey Bob has been in sharp form this season. After finishing second to Relentlessly Fast in a 110-yard allowance on August 31, he rebounded with a win at Remington Park, earning a 104 speed index, and later returned to Canterbury Park, where he scored again under optional claiming conditions with a 101 speed index. He is trained by Jason L. Olmstead and will break from post position two with Armando Alvidrez aboard.

His main rival, Relentlessly Fast, is listed at 9-5 on the morning line. A four-year-old gelding by Hes Relentless out of Logans Fast Dasher (by Heza Fast Dash), he was bred in Oklahoma by Stuart and Strebig and purchased for $50,000 by Tom Maher at the Heritage Place Sale.

Relentlessly Fast has compiled four career wins and earned $118,517. His résumé includes victories in the MQHRA Stallion Auction Futurity and the Northlands Futurity, along with a runner-up finish in the Canterbury Park Derby. His most recent score came at the expense of Dickey Bob, a result he will look to repeat here. He is trained by Tyler Stein and will have Angel O. Ramirez in the irons from the rail in post one.

With a field of five, the Prairie Dash Stakes is a test of sheer break and acceleration, where the quickest away from the gate is likely to secure the $30,000 prize.
