EDMONTON, AB–JUNE 20, 2026–Great Falls rallied along the outside rail to score a one-length victory in the $34,783 John Deere Century Mile Juvenile Challenge on Saturday at Century Mile. The 350-yard final for 2-year-olds was run over a sloppy track following rainy conditions.

Making just her second career start, Great Falls and jockey Ricardo Moreno overcame a troubled beginning after lacking a clear path leaving the gate. The gray filly raced just off the pace before surging late to stop the timer in 18.264 seconds and earn an 83 speed index.

Owned by Jerry Stojan and trained by William H. Leech, Great Falls was purchased for $24,000 at the Los Alamitos Yearling Sale.

Bred in California by Steve D. Burns, DVM, she is sired by Mpshinning and out of the stakes-winning Separatist mare Fall For It. She is a half-sister to stakes winners Ballast Point ($102,214) and Canselman ($59,550).

The filly entered the race off a fourth-place debut effort against maiden company and used that experience to her advantage against a field that included several first-time starters. The winner's share of $18,087 increased her earnings to $18,657.

Rooters Wagon finished second under O. Hernandez after setting the pace from the start. The gelding drifted out in the stretch but held on for the runner-up position while making his career debut.

Owned and bred by Glenn Wills and trained by Buckey Stockwell, Rooters Wagon is by JD Wagon Boss and out of the Sizzlin Red Corona mare Bitterroot Corona.

Another first-time starter, Coronas Firefly, finished third under Alexander Marti. The filly broke outward leaving the gate and continued to drift out in the stretch before finishing evenly.

Racing for Commotion Creek Contracting and WT Ranches Ltd. and trained by Buckey Stockwell, Coronas Firefly is sired by Bolt Of Fire and out of the Mighty Corona mare Mo Diamond Corona.

Secret Wagon finished fourth and A Dashing Wagon completed the order of finish.
