VINTON, LA—JULY 23, 2026—Delta Downs has released a 13-race stakes schedule for its upcoming Fair Grounds Quarter Horse meet, featuring more than $700,000 in added and guaranteed purses, highlighted by the $200,000-added LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) and the $75,000-added Big Easy Futurity. The schedule includes futurities, a derby, juvenile races and stakes for older horses that will be contested during a stakes-filled month of August.

The action begins on Thursday, August 6, with a pair of $25,000 Guaranteed stakes boosted by an additional $10,000 from the Accredited Louisiana Bred Stakes Schedule (ALBSS). The French Quarters will showcase fillies and mares three-years-old and upward at 330 yards, while the Esplanade is slated for older horses sprinting 400 yards. Both races require a negative hair test before entry.

Attention then turns to the next generation of Louisiana-breds with trials for the Big Easy Futurity on Friday, August 7, followed a day later by trials for the prestigious LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1) on Saturday, August 8. Both futurities will be contested at 350 yards and are restricted to two-year-olds under LQHBA hair testing requirements.

The Big Easy Futurity, carrying a $75,000-added purse, headlines the Friday, August 28 program. The same evening also features the Desaix, a 350-yard event for the fastest non-qualifiers from the Big Easy Futurity trials, and the Faubourg St. John, an 870-yard test for older horses. Each race offers a $25,000 Guaranteed purse with an additional $10,000 provided through the ALBSS.

Championship Saturday arrives on August 29, anchored by the $200,000-added LQHBA Sale Futurity (RG1), one of Louisiana's premier races for two-year-olds. The card also includes the $50,000 Guaranteed Audubon for older fillies and mares at 330 yards and the Treme Derby for three-year-olds going 350 yards.

The undercard features a quartet of $50,000 Guaranteed races. The LQHBA Sale Juvenile and LQHBA Sale Debutante are restricted to the fastest non-qualifiers from the LQHBA Sale Futurity trials, with the Juvenile open to colts and geldings and the Debutante reserved for fillies. Rounding out the stakes-filled evening are the Mid City, a 440-yard event for older horses, and the Lakeview Dash, a 250-yard sprint for three-year-olds and upward.

All races on the stakes schedule that require hair testing must comply with Louisiana Quarter Horse racing regulations, and horsemen are encouraged to review the specific testing requirements before entering.
