OQHRA Announces Stall Applications, Purse Increases for 2026 Will Rogers Downs Fall Meet

CLAREMORE, OK–JULY 9, 2026–The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association (OQHRA) has announced that stall applications are now available for the upcoming 2026 Will Rogers Downs Fall Quarter Horse/Mixed Meet, while also unveiling substantial overnight purse increases and a new owner incentive program for the season.

Applications are due by Sunday, August 2, and may be submitted in person at Fair Meadows or Will Rogers Downs, or emailed to theresa.luneack@cnent.com. The stall application is available through OQHRA.

Quarter Horse overnight purses will receive significant increases for the fall meet. Open Allowance races will carry a purse of $24,500, while N2L Allowance races will be worth $19,200 and Maiden races $18,500.

Paint and Appaloosa overnight purses have also been increased and will now match the current Fair Meadows Tulsa purse structure. Open Allowance races will offer $13,200, N2L Allowance races $12,000, and Maiden races $11,800.

Another new feature for 2026 is the First Time Starter Bonus. Every horse making its first start in an overnight race at Will Rogers Downs will receive a $240 bonus, paid directly to the owner's horsemen's account. The incentive mirrors the successful program at Remington Park and is designed to help offset the cost of hair testing while encouraging greater participation from owners and trainers.

The fall meet was originally scheduled to begin September 7. However, Will Rogers Downs and OQHRA have requested approval from the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission to move opening day to September 14, with the meet concluding November 17. If approved, racing will be conducted on Mondays and Tuesdays to begin the season before expanding to Sundays through Tuesdays later in the meet.

OQHRA also noted that the 2026 condition book will be released soon with additional information regarding the upcoming racing season.
