OGALLALA, NE—JUNE 19—Quarter Horse racing will return to western Nebraska next month as Lake Mac Racetrack prepares to host a two-day racing weekend on July 10 and 11 in Ogallala.

Both race programs will feature live Quarter Horse racing with a first post of 3 p.m. Mountain Time. The event is being conducted in partnership with the Nebraska Quarter Horse Racing Association (NQHRA), which works to promote and support Quarter Horse racing throughout the state.

Horsemen planning to participate should take note of several upcoming deadlines. The zero date for both race days is July 2, while entries for the July 10 and 11 programs will be taken on July 3.

Lake Mac Racetrack officials announced they will accept digital copies of original AQHA registration certificates directly from the American Quarter Horse Association for horses seeking a zero date. To qualify, AQHA must receive an email from the current owner’s profile email address requesting that a digital copy of the horse’s registration papers, reflecting current ownership, be sent to race@lakemacracetrack.org by July 2. Registration papers received after the deadline will be assigned an E1 date.

Officials also reminded horsemen that all horses accepted into a race at Lake Mac Racetrack must have current, original AQHA registration papers on file with the racing office prior to competing. Copies of registration papers will not be accepted.

Owners, trainers, breeders, and racing participants are encouraged to review licensing requirements, racing information, and other resources before entry day to ensure all paperwork is completed in advance.

The Nebraska Quarter Horse Racing Association will also host a meeting for members and interested parties on Saturday, July 11, prior to the afternoon races. Additional details regarding the meeting time and location will be announced through the NQHRA.

For additional racing information, horsemen can visit Lake Mac Racetrack's website or contact the racing office at (402) 984-1797 or (469) 900-9343.

Lake Mac Racetrack and the NQHRA look forward to welcoming owners, trainers, jockeys, horsemen, and fans to Ogallala for a weekend of Quarter Horse racing action.
