ELGIN, TX–JUNE 1, 2026– The 29th Annual TQHA Yearling Sale will return to the Freeman Expo Hall in San Antonio, Texas, on July 24 and 25, offering buyers the opportunity to select from 420 Accredited Texas-Bred Quarter Horse yearlings eligible for one of the richest sale futurities in the Southwest.

The two-day auction will begin at 10:00 a.m. each day and feature a catalog of Texas-Bred yearlings competing for future eligibility in the 2027 $200,000 Added TQHA Sale Futurity (RG1). Every yearling that passes through the sale ring will be eligible for the prestigious futurity, regardless of purchase price.

Catalog production is currently being finalized and is expected to be sent to the printer this week, with printed catalogs scheduled to be mailed during the third week of June. Online catalog access, including the QData Online Catalog and digital catalog pages, is expected to be available through the Texas Quarter Horse Association website in early June.

A major addition for the 2026 sale will be the introduction of online bidding through DVAuction, allowing approved buyers to participate remotely. TQHA officials note that strict registration deadlines and eligibility requirements apply to online bidders. Complete registration information, guidelines, and forms are available through the TQHA website.

Buyers planning to pay by check at the sale are reminded that a completed Request to Purchase by Check form must be submitted to the TQHA office no later than July 20. The form must be completed in its entirety and notarized prior to submission. Applicants may mail the completed form to the TQHA office or email it directly to ssherwood@tqha.com or caren@tqha.com. The form requires banking information and verification from a bank officer before approval.

TQHA has also secured a discounted room block for sale attendees at the host hotel, Estancia Del Norte San Antonio. Horsemen and buyers wishing to take advantage of the special room rate must make reservations by 11:59 p.m. on June 20.

The annual sale has become one of the premier marketplaces for Texas-Bred Quarter Horses, producing numerous futurity winners, stakes horses, and accredited champions. With 420 yearlings scheduled to pass through the ring and the addition of online bidding for the first time, organizers anticipate strong participation from buyers across Texas and beyond.
