FARGO, ND–May 13, 2026–The North Dakota Quarter Horse Racing Association and North Dakota Horse Park are reminding horsemen that nominations for the 2026 Cox Ranch Distaff Challenge are due May 15 for the upcoming regional AQHA Racing Challenge event scheduled this summer in Fargo.

The Cox Ranch Distaff Challenge is open to fillies and mares, three-year-olds and up, and will be contested at 400 yards. Trials are scheduled for July 11, with the final set for July 26 at North Dakota Horse Park.

A projected $35,000-added purse is expected if a full field is achieved.

The nomination payment is $400, with horsemen encouraged to submit payments prior to the May 15 deadline to avoid late fees.

The race is part of the AQHA Racing Challenge program and provides an opportunity for regional mares to compete for significant purse money while participating in the nationally recognized Challenge series.
