The OHRC Issued Instructions and a Checklist for Removal of Protected Horses

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–APRIL 30, 2026–At the request of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, the OQHRA shared important information today for trainers/owners impacted by the Protective Order, entered by the Stewards on April 22, 2026. To help guide you through the removal process, please follow the steps outlined below:

Trainers are asked to complete Section A of the Checklist and Application, and submit the following items: treatment records from the past 90 days, pharmacy and prescription compounding records (including invoices and shipping records), barn treatment sheets, medication inventories, veterinarian communications, and work records. If there have been any prior distress episodes, please provide related videos (if available), notes, treatment, recovery, and follow-up records. Independent or personal veterinarian reports should also be included.

All documents may be sent to Michael Sandoval at Michael.Sandoval@ohrc.ok.gov or delivered in person to the Licensing Office at Remington Park. Mr. Sandoval will coordinate the next steps with each trainer. For questions or assistance, contact (572) 276-1331.

The Application, Checklist, and further instructions have been provided directly to affected trainers. We appreciate your cooperation as we work together to ensure the wellbeing of all horses at Remington Park.
