FARGO, ND–MARCH 9, 2026– Live horse racing will return to Fargo for eight race days across four weekends this summer. The 2026 meet, the park’s 23rd season, is scheduled to open Friday, July 10, and run through Sunday, Aug. 2. Gates will open at 5 p.m. on Fridays and at 11 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Fans can expect live Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred racing along with family-friendly entertainment, special promotions, food and beverage options, and wagering opportunities, the release said.
Opening weekend will feature a free North Dakota Horse Park T-shirt giveaway for the first 500 paid patrons through the gates on Friday. Family Day will be held Sunday, July 12, with games, activities, and entertainment for children.
Additional themed events scheduled throughout the meet include live corgi races, a casino night, a veterans appreciation event, a “Derby Day,” and other promotions.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for children ages 17 and under. The season finale on Aug. 2 will be Dollar Day, when admission, beer, hot dogs, soda, water, and snacks will be available for $1 each.
Horse Park General Manager Hugh Alan Drexler said the meet will feature many of the top horses and jockeys from across the region.
The North Dakota Horse Park is located at 5180 19th Avenue North in Fargo. The facility is operated in part by Horse Race North Dakota and the North Dakota Horse Park Foundation.
