ALEXANDRIA, LA—JANUARY 9, 2026—The Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association (LQHBA) would like to remind breeders that its 2026 Stallion Service Auction is currently underway, offering stallion services while supporting the association’s long-standing Youth Scholarship Program.
The annual online auction opened Friday, December 5, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. (CST) and will close Friday, January 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. (CST).
All proceeds from the auction, after applicable farm or chute fees, directly benefit the LQHBA Youth Scholarship Fund, which has awarded more than $850,000 to Louisiana youth since the program began in 2001.
“This auction not only strengthens our breeding industry but also changes lives,” said LQHBA Assistant Executive Director Misty Coats. “It is an accomplishment we can all be proud of.”
Bidders are reminded that a new account must be created each year to participate. After registering, bidders must confirm their account via email and are encouraged to check spam or junk folders for activation links. Minimum bids include any listed farm or chute fees unless otherwise noted.
The auction platform features secure SSL encryption and PCI-compliant credit card processing through Stripe. Stallion services will sell to the highest bidder, with automatic five-minute extensions applied to any bid placed in the final minutes of an item’s closing time. Winning bidders will be notified within 24 hours, and payments will be processed within 48 hours.
Breeders should note that semen collection, shipping, mare care, and all veterinary or farm-related expenses are not included in the winning bid and must be arranged directly with stallion owners. All breeding(s) must be used during the 2026 breeding season.
Stallion services that do not receive an opening bid during the auction will be made available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis for the minimum bid plus $100.
