ELGIN, TX–NOVEMBER 19, 2025–With the 2025 Texas Classic Futurity (G1), Texas Classic Derby (G1), and Purina Feeds Texas Classic Oaks in the rear view mirror, the focus shifts squarely to the 2026 renewals of these marquee events.
All three races will once again anchor the fall racing program at Lone Star Park, continuing a long-standing tradition for Quarter Horse racing in Texas.
New for the upcoming season: the Purina Feeds Texas Classic Oaks has officially been elevated to Grade 2 status for 2026.
Nominations for the 2026 Texas Classic Futurity (G1), Texas Classic Derby (G1), and Purina Feeds Texas Classic Oaks (G2) are due January 15, 2026. The nomination fee is $200 per race.
Official nomination forms are available through the Texas Quarter Horse Association at: tqha.com/racing. CLICK HERE to visit their site.
Each nomination must include a completed and signed nomination blank. If submitting by email and paying with a credit card, owners may fill out the payment section on the form and send the completed document to ssherwood@tqha.com.

The countdown to the 2026 Texas Classic Series has officially begun—owners are encouraged to get their paperwork in place and prepare for another standout year at Lone Star Park.
