GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—OCTOBER 30, 2025—Horsemen are reminded that nominations close Friday, October 31, for two upcoming stakes at Lone Star Park — the prestigious Grade 1 Refrigerator Championship and the Ochoa Stakes for Texas-breds.

The $100,000-added Refrigerator Championship (G1), for three-year-olds and upward going 440 yards, is set for Saturday, November 15. Named in honor of the legendary world champion Refrigerator, one of the sport’s all-time greats and a multiple Champion of Champions winner, this race has long served as a premier late-season event for older Quarter Horses. Past winners have included some of the sport’s elite, solidifying their bids for year-end championship consideration.

The Ochoa Stakes, offering a $30,000 guaranteed purse, is restricted to Texas-bred two-year-olds and will be run on Friday, November 14, at 350 yards. The race honors Ochoa, the richest American Quarter Horse of all time, who captured multiple Grade 1 titles and the 2011 All American Futurity.

There is no fee to nominate for either race.

Horsemen may submit nominations by calling (972) 237-1130, replying to racing@lonestarpark.com, or texting (972) 415-7093. Additional information is available in the horsemen’s section of the Lone Star Park website at www.lonestarpark.com.

For further inquiries, horsemen can also contact the racing office by phone at (972) 237-1130 or (888) 4-RACING.
