STONEWALL, TX–OCTOBER 12, 2025–Pandorum has earned the coveted AQHA Dam of Distinction award, a prestigious recognition that honors the most accomplished broodmares in Quarter Horse racing.
“We are thrilled and grateful to have Pandorum listed among the greatest broodmares in AQHA racing history. She is broodmare #62 to earn the Dams of Distinction honor,” said representatives of Fulton Quien Sabe Ranch.
To qualify for the award, a mare must meet one or more of the following criteria:
• Produce two or more individual AQHA racing champions.
• Produce at least three individual Grade 1 stakes winners.
• Produce at least two foals ranked among the top 10 money earners of any given year (as of December 31), along with two Grade 1 stakes winners.
• Produce at least three foals that ranked among the top 10 money earners of any given year (as of December 31).
Pandorum is a 2009 brown mare bred by AQHA Hall of Fame member Joe Kirk Fulton and owned by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranch. A daughter of champion sire Tres Seis, she is out of the mare Daring Diversion by Strawfly Special.
During her racing career, Pandorum earned multiple accolades, including a victory in the Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge (G3), and she set a new 350-yard track record with a 109 speed index. She compiled four wins from eight starts and earned $70,437.
Her sire, Tres Seis, has proven to be one of the breed’s most versatile and successful stallions, with more than $30 million in progeny earnings on the track and $10 million in the barrel arena.
Her dam, Daring Diversion, was a graded stakes-placed winner and a half-sister to stakes winners Ethics Aside SI 106 ($99,644) and Sweet Oblivion SI 110 ($55,704).
Already considered an incredible producer, Pandorum’s remarkable record reached historic heights when her daughter Hott Temptation captured the Grade 1 Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap in September, completing the requirements for Pandorum’s Dams of Distinction honor.
Pandorum is the dam of three Grade 1 winners, including two-time AQHA champion Hotstepper SI 98 ($1,336,359, All American Derby-G1, Texas Classic Derby-G1), Hotsempting SI 99 ($682,793, Ruidoso Derby-G1), and Hott Temptation SI 98 (2025, $244,992, Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1).
She has also produced several other top-level Grade 1 performers, including In Hott Pursuit SI 93 ($358,218, 2nd Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1, 3rd Golden State Million Futurity-G1), Hot Prodigy SI 95 ($110,663, finalist Golden State Million Futurity-G1, Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1), and Caliente Caramelo SI 96 ($97,867, finalist All American Futurity-G1).
In total, Pandorum has produced eight starters, seven winners, and over $2.8 million in progeny earnings.
Two of her sons, Hot Prodigy, a son of the leading living sire Apollitical Jess, and In Hott Pursuit by world champion sire One Famous Eagle, are both standing at stud.
Hot Prodigy entered stud this year at Bob Moore Farms and In Hott Pursuit, who’s first foals are yearlings, is standing at Dunn Ranch.
Pandorum’s offspring are also starting to produce black type horses as well. Her daughter In the Spotlyte is the dam of Los Alamitos Two Million Juvenile placed Lytes Out and Oklahoma Juvenile placed Right On Tyme.
“We know that Joe Kirk Fulton is smiling from heaven knowing he bred, raised, and raced Pandorum — and now she’s in the history books as one of the greatest broodmares in the sport of Quarter Horse racing.”
