Olmstead, Ramirez, and Maher Top Prairie Meadows 2025 Quarter Horse Meet Standings

ALTOONA, IA—SEPTEMBER 27, 2025—The 2025 live Quarter Horse meet at Prairie Meadows, which ran from May 9 through September 27, has wrapped up with familiar names leading the trainer, jockey, and owner standings.

Trainer Standings

Leading trainer honors went to Jason L. Olmstead, whose barn sent out 32 winners from 208 starts, while also saddling 43 seconds and 39 thirds. His horses earned a meet-leading $1,010,521, giving him a 15% win rate.

There was a tie for second between trainers Alex Wessels and Edward Ross Hardy.

Alex Wessels finished with 27 wins from 120 starters, along with 18 seconds and 21 thirds. His trainees earned $643,497, and he matched a 23% win percentage.

Edward Ross Hardy scored 27 wins from 100 starts, 13 seconds, and 17 thirds in a strong showing. Hardy’s barn recorded a higher 27% win percentage and $385,245 in earnings.

Jockey Standings

Angel O. Ramirez secured the riding title at Prairie Meadows with an impressive season that saw him guide 45 winners from 194 mounts, while also recording 29 seconds and 30 thirds. His mounts earned $740,570, and he finished in the money 54% of the time with a 23% win clip.

Runner-up honors went to Miguel Josue Ramirez, who tallied 37 wins from 164 mounts, amassing $542,506 in earnings while matching the leading rider with a 23% win percentage. He finished in the top three 50% of the time.

Third place went to Ramiro Haro Garcia, who posted 29 wins from 134 starts, along with 22 seconds and 25 thirds. His mounts earned $599,727, and he finished in the money at a meet-leading 57%.

Owner Standings

Tom Maher of Pierre, South Dakota, topped the owner standings with 11 wins from 66 starts, supported by 17 seconds and 11 thirds. His horses earned $292,365, with a 17% win rate and a 59% top-three finish rate.

Runner-up Stephen Moyle enjoyed a highly efficient meet, sending out just 24 starters and collecting 7 wins, 4 seconds, and 9 thirds. His stable amassed $183,853, with a 29% win percentage and an eye-catching 83% in-the-money rate.

There was a tie for third between Brenda Reiswig and the partnership of Bradbury Racing and John D. Hammes.

Reiswig tallied 7 wins, 10 seconds, and 11 thirds from 55 starters, earning $162,150 with a 13% win rate.

Bradbury Racing and Hammes matched her victory total with 7 wins from 22 starters, along with 4 seconds and 4 thirds. Their stable earned $119,899, posting an impressive 32% win clip and a 68% in-the-money record.

The 2025 Prairie Meadows Quarter Horse meet showcased deep competition among horsemen and horsewomen, highlighted by dominant performances from Ramirez, Olmstead, and Maher at the top of the standings.
