HOBBS, NM–JULY 16, 2025–Stall and Racing Applications for the 2025 Zia Park horse racing meet are now available. Forms are available at the track's website or by CLICKING HERE.
Horsemen are advised that in addition to the application for stall space during the track’s 31-day race meet (November 1 to December 16), those not seeking stall space are still required to submit a signed application along with expected horses to race during the meet. Fully completed racing applications must be submitted, reviewed, and approved by Zia Park prior to any “zero date” being issued for racing preference.
"We feel this new procedure will help provide a process to thoroughly review not only individuals and horses applying for stall space, but for overall racing privileges at our track to ensure the highest level of safety and integrity with such applicants," said Christopher McErlean, Vice President of Racing for Penn Entertainment, parent company of Zia Park Casino, Hotel and Racetrack. "This will be a new process for horsemen, but one which we feel will be beneficial for all involved," McErlean added.
Horsemen are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible. The deadline for stall and racing applications is August 18.
Zia Park will conduct a mixed meet consisting of 16 Quarter Horse dates and 15 Thoroughbred race dates that will feature an average daily overnight purse allocation of nearly $350,000, plus a 31 stake races worth over $4.3 million.
The highlights of the meet will be the three-day stakes trifecta of the $1.2 New Mexico Quarter Horse Classic Day (Sunday, Nov. 23), the $1.3 million New Mexico Thoroughbred Classic Day (Monday, Nov 24) and the $1.1 million Land of Enchantment Day on Tuesday, November 25 featuring the $300,000 Zia Park Derby and Oaks.
