Chad Hart of Hart Farms announced today that he has purchased the stakes winning full brother to Champion Corona Kool and half-brother to Champion Corona Chick from Blane Schvaneveldt Quarter Horse Ranch.
A stakes winner of $214,718, Corona Cocktail won the Evening Snow Handicap while finishing third in the Grade 1 Golden State Futurity, Ed Burke Memorial Futurity, and Southern California Derby. He was also a finalist in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Million and Golden State Derby.
From a limited number of starters in two crops to race Corona Cocktail has sired 36 ROM earners of more than $416,000 including six stakes horses.
His stakes runners include Modem, winner of California Breeders’ Spring Stakes-G3, Vandi Chick, winner of the Dixie Downs and White Glove Futurities, Cocktailsfortheroad, winner of the RMSC QH Futurity, Tanqueray Cocktail, second in the Corona Kool Handicap and Live With The Corona, 3rd Fair Meadows Juvenile Stakes.
Corona Cocktail will stand for a fee of $3,000 at Hart Farms in Kaplan, LA. For contracts call Chad at 337-643-3255.
In other stallion movements Hart announced today his full brother to leading sire Corona Cartel, King Corona, will begin his stallion career in 2006 at Pleasure Time Farms in Alexandria, LA. His introductory fee will be $2,000. For contracts you can reach farm manager Rick Boutte at 318.443.1411.
Another stallion owned by Hart, First Down Jewel, will move to the Delta Equine Center in Vinton, LA. The multiple stakes siring son of First Down Dash has sired earner of more than $1.1 million. His 2006 fee will be $1,250. For contracts contact Dr. Larry Findley at 337-589-3078.
