Heritage Place Yearling Sale Closes With $26.56 Million Gross, Led By Strong Four-Day Trade

The 48th annual Heritage Place Quarter Horse Yearling Sale concluded Saturday in Oklahoma City with receipts of $26,563,700 from 796 yearlings sold during the four-day auction.
The 2026 sale saw 1,011 yearlings offered, with 796 marked sold, 215 RNAs and 73 outs. The final average was $33,371, while the median settled at $20,500.
Compared with the 2025 four-day sale, total gross increased $796,100, or 3.1 percent, from $25,767,600. Last year's sale had 903 offered, 764 sold, 139 RNAs and 99 outs.
The 2026 average of $33,371 was down just 1.1 percent from last year's $33,727, while the median declined from $23,000 in 2025 to $20,500 this year. The number sold increased by 32 yearlings, or 4.2 percent, while the number offered increased by 108.
"The 48th Heritage Place Quarter Horse Yearling Sale concluded with an average sale price of $33,371, just 1% off of last year's sale average and 79% of the horses offered this weekend were marked sold," Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney said.
"Heritage Place would like to thank all buyers and sellers alike for their business and for their dedication to the Racing Quarter Horse Industry."
Saturday's fourth and final session produced $5,530,100 in gross receipts from 177 yearlings sold. A total of 249 yearlings were offered, with 72 RNAs and 22 outs. The session averaged $31,244 with a $16,500 median.
AJ Rockie Road Tops Final Session At $265,000
Hip 950, AJ Rockie Road, brought $265,000 to lead Saturday's final session. Rito Sosa purchased the yearling colt from the Rancho El Cabresto Inc. consignment.
AJ Rockie Road is by leading sire Apollitical Jess and out of Callan Rocks, by Corona Cartel. He is a half-brother to Los Alamitos Million Futurity (G1) winner Worth Doing.
The day's second-highest seller was Hip 967, Painted Cowgirl 123, who brought $230,000 from Marla K Robinson Family Trust. Marty Powers, Agent for Flag Ranch LLC, consigned the yearling filly, who is a half-sister to champion Unrelentless.
Painted Cowgirl 123 is by Flying Cowboy 123 and out of Painted Wine Wagon, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon.
Hip 1052, RR Lotta Love For AJ completed Saturday's top three at $180,000. Haras Portofino purchased the Apollitical Jess filly from Lazy E Ranch LLC, Agent for Reliance Ranches LLC.
RR Lotta Love For AJ is out of Lotta Love For Robyn, a daughter of First Down Dash. RR Lotta Love For AJ is a half-sister to five black type, including Golden State Futurity(G1) winner Lotta Blues Man and Texas Classic Futurity(G1) winner Tres Friends.
AJ Racing Aurelio Juarez Leads Buyers
AJ Racing Aurelio Juarez finished as the sale's leading buyer by gross, purchasing five yearlings for $1,258,500.
LA Racing Stables LLC purchased 26 yearlings for $799,000, while MRB Racing LLC bought five for $495,000.
Rancho El Cabresto Inc. topped the consignor/agent standings with 30 yearlings generating $1,805,000 in sales.
Marty Powers, Agent for Flag Ranch LLC, followed with 17 yearlings totaling $1,184,000, while Jordan Wiggins, Agent, sold 13 for $922,000.
Flying Cowboy 123 Leads Sale Sires
Flying Cowboy 123 dominated the leading sire standings by average among stallions with two or more yearlings sold. His 45 yearlings averaged $104,933 and generated $4,722,000 in gross sales.
Apollitical Jess was represented by 50 yearlings that averaged $73,370 and grossed $3,668,500.
Favorite Cartel ranked third, with 31 yearlings averaging $48,145 and grossing $1,492,500.
Among first-sale-crop sires with two or more sold, Eye On The Card led by average, with three yearlings bringing an average of $20,167 and $60,500 in total receipts. Cyber Attack had 11 yearlings sell for $185,000, averaging $16,818.
Desirio headed the sale's leading broodmare sire standings by average among those with two or more sold. Two yearlings out of Desirio mares averaged $204,500 and grossed $409,000.
Take Off Jess ranked next with four, averaging $170,250 and grossing $681,000, followed by Fantastic Corona Jr, whose two representatives averaged $78,000 and totaled $156,000.
"The Fall Mixed Sale will be November 5-7th, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in Oklahoma City at Heritage Place for the 49th annual event," Kidney said.
