Freighttrain B Filly Blue Strips B Set For Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale

Blue Strips B, a Freighttrain B filly from the immediate family of Grade 1 winner Sure Shot B, will go through the ring as Hip 237 during the second session of the 2026 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale on Saturday, September 5.

Consigned by leading breeder Bielau Oaks, Blue Strips B is a January 15, 2025, bay filly by multiple graded stakes winner and world champion sire Freighttrain B SI 115 out of the stakes-placed FDD Dynasty mare Devil Wears Prada B SI 98.

Hip 237 is scheduled to sell Saturday, September 5, when Hips 207 through 413 are offered during Session II. The two-day Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale begins Friday, September 4, with both sessions scheduled for 2 p.m. (MDT) at the Ruidoso Downs Sales Pavilion.

Freighttrain B has established himself as one of the industry's leading sires, with 52 stakes winners and progeny earnings exceeding $30.7 million. His runners are headed by World Champion Whistle Stop Cafe SI 101, earner of $2,335,831, and Champion Shaken Goin On SI 101, who earned $475,470. His other leading performers include BV Midnite Express SI 98 ($769,319), Eyesa Freighttrain B SI 92 ($609,297), Sheza Freighttrain T SI 107 ($574,840) and San Lorenzo Chrome SI 98 ($541,219).

Blue Strips B's dam, Devil Wears Prada B, won twice and earned $16,402 while finishing third in the Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge(G3). From 11 foals of racing age, she has produced six winners and seven ROM from 10 starters.

Her leading performer is Tipsy Girl B SI 101, a five-time winner of $67,147 who won the MQHRA Stallion Auction Futurity and placed in the Canterbury Park Derby and Gopher State Derby. Devil Wears Prada B is also the dam of Wii B SI 104, a three-time winner of $39,044 who was second in the Retama Juvenile Challenge and a finalist in the Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby, and Kiss My Fireball B SI 96, a winner of $40,904.

The pedigree gets additional strength from Blue Strips B's second dam, She A Miracle SI 81, whose runners include Sure Shot B SI 104, winner of eight races and $573,548. Sure Shot B captured the Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity and City of Hialeah Stakes and was a finalist in the Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity.

She A Miracle is also the dam of Miracle Streakin SI 103, a four-time winner of $139,955 who was runner-up in the Grade 1 New Mexican Spring Futurity, and the granddam of 2026 Grade 3 Sam Houston Distance Challenge winner Fire Bolt B SI 99.

The family traces through third dam Smart Alibi Lady SI 103, a stakes winner who produced Grade 1 New Mexico Classic Championship winner Luck N Ofive SI 117, an earner of $370,874, further adding proven stakes quality to the bottom side of Blue Strips B's pedigree.

Blue Strips B is eligible for the AQHA Challenge, All American, Rainbow and Ruidoso futurities, Golden State Million Futurity and Ruby Buckle. She is an embryo transfer.
