Battles Of The Best To Be Determined In The Leo Stakes (G1) and Pauls Valley Stakes (G2) On Saturday

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 2, 2025—The battle of the best at the distances of 400 yards and 870 yards will be determined on Saturday's stakes card at Remington Park with the $100,000 Leo Stakes (G1) and $50,000 Pauls Valley Stakes (G2).

Race nine will kick off the stakes races on Saturday, featuring Shakers No Secret as the morning line favorite in the Leo Stakes (G1). Shakers No Secret has had a strong start to the 2025 racing season, capturing the Championship at Sunland Park (G1) and increasing his earnings to $672,164.

Shakers No Secret is a five-year-old gelding by Five Bar Cartel, racing for owners Manny Dutchover and Ethan & Abel Lopez. He is trained by Marc Jungersz and will be ridden by Christian Ramos, drawing post position number one.

To complete the field of ten, there is an impressive group of nine graded stakes-winning colts and geldings, along with the lone mare in the field, Shy Kisser, a Kiss My Hocks filly who recently caused an upset in the Dee Raper Sooner Stakes.

Race ten will feature the Pauls Valley Stakes, where morning line favorite O Donovan Rossa aims to defend his title after winning the event for the past two consecutive years. This seven-year-old gelding sired by Apollitical Jess, owned by Kelly Yother Equine LLC, is coming off a recent victory in the Q Racing Video Remington Distance Challenge (G2) at Remington Park.

O Donovan Rossa drew post position three. He is conditioned by leading trainer Dee Keener and ridden by Roman Cruz.

He has drawn the favorable inside post position number one, under the ownership of Paula Marchant. The five-year-old gelding is conditioned by Stacey Capps and will be ridden by Eugenio A. Navarrete Jr.
