Yo Morning Delite Scores Fifth Win The Season In The $41,050 WABRA Wyoming Bred QH Maturity

ROCK SPRINGS, WY–SEPTEMBER 28, 2024–Favored to win, Yo Morning Delite doesn't disappoint with a gate-to-wire victory in the $41,050 Wyoming All Breeds Racing Association Wyoming Bred Quarter Horse Maturity at Sweetwater Downs on Saturday.

Trainer Matt Tryston named jockey Jarred Journet to ride Yo Morning Delite in the 400-yard stakes race. The duo outdueled Sundancin Kid, ridden by Jesus Valenzuela, by a head, clocking a 96 speed index in 19.919 seconds.

Cayenneoverthemoon, piloted by Jacob Cardenas, was bumped throughout but managed to cross the wire in third. Yo Morning Delite's victory paid $6.40 to win on 2-1 odds.

Yo Morning Delite has 15 career wins from 23 starts and has won the last five out of six races this season, including the Wyoming Downs Ron Moosman Stakes and Silks & Spurs Maturity. She has six career stakes victories.

The $16,420 winner's share of the WABRA Maturity purse increased the four-year-old winner's bankroll to $168,980. Gerald Kaul owns and bred Yo Morning Delite out of the Southern Corona mare Rs Afternoon Delite.

Brindis Por Cayenne sired both Yo Morning Delite and third-place finisher Cayenneoverthemoon, who Tryston also trained.

Trainer Kylie Valenzuela saddled runner-up Sundancin Kid for owner Chris Nebeker. The four-year-old son of Pappasito has six career wins and $121,620 in earnings. Jim Nebeker bred the three-time stakes winner out of Josie Bassett by Maknmoves.

S Bar S bred Cayenneoverthemoon out of the Apollo (TB) mare Dashmetothemoon. The five-year-old mare has 14 lifetime wins, with five in stakes competition, and earned $143,115 for owner Walter Larson.

Diamond Dusting, Kcross Cuatro, Yo Zoomin Fifty, Makin Turtlemoves, Jv Papp B Moven, and Yo Brindis Delite complete the order of finish. The Iron Chef was scratched.
