Wired BB secured his first career stakes victory Saturday afternoon at Eureka Downs, capturing the $50,000 Paint By Numbers Stakes by half a length over established Grade 1 winner Wire Tap.

Ridden by Benn Cordarelton, the 5-year-old gelding completed the 350 yards in 17.620 seconds, earning an 88 speed index while racing into a 10-mph headwind. Breaking alertly from post seven, Wired BB took a narrow early advantage, extended his lead to a neck, and held off the late-running Wire Tap to secure the victory.

Owned by Francisco J. Garcia-Martinez and trained by Everardo Escamilla-Gonzalez, Wired BB was bred in Oklahoma by Dan and Kaye Jones. The gelding is sired by Crm Livewire and out of the Awesome Chrome mare Biker Babe.

The victory improved Wired BB's career record to 21-4-2-5, and the $30,000 winner's share of the purse boosted his total earnings to $79,135. Saturday's win marked his first stakes triumph after previously qualifying as a finalist in the Mister Lewie Memorial Stakes (G1) and PSBA American Paint Classic Futurity (G1).

Wire Tap finished second under jockey Cody Smith for owner Kaye Jones and trainer Matt Whitekiller. Breaking fifth from post six, the 5-year-old gelding steadily gained ground throughout the race before finishing half a length behind the winner.

Bred by Dan and Kaye Jones, Wire Tap is also a son of Crm Livewire and is out of the Second Painted Sign mare Lindys Sign.

An established Grade 1 stakes winner, Wire Tap has captured the PSBA Paint Classic Stakes (G1), Mister Lewie Memorial Stakes (G1), and Olympia Joes Stakes (G1). He now has a career record of 33-11-9-2 with $147,257 in earnings.

Over The Shock crossed the wire in third under jockey Randy Vega for owner Robin Whitekiller and trainer Matt Whitekiller. The 7-year-old gelding broke third from the rail, challenged near the front throughout, and finished one length behind Wire Tap.

Bred by Matt Whitekiller, Over The Shock is sired by Crm Livewire and out of the Streak And Dash mare Dont Look Ethel.

Still seeking his first stakes victory, Over The Shock has placed in multiple stakes events, including the Mister Lewie Memorial Stakes (G1). He now has a career record of 30-8-5-6 with $125,199 in earnings.

Nota Pocahontas finished fourth, followed by V Golden Game, Inner G, Cuz Eyema Cowboy Baby, and Storms Livewire, completing the order of finish.
