Western Dynasty Captures $25,000 WABRA Wyoming Bred Maturity Consolation

Western Dynasty held off a late rally from fastest qualifier Feature Mr Rabbit to capture the $25,000 WABRA Wyoming Bred Maturity Consolation at Sweetwater Downs on Sunday, September 20, securing his first career stakes victory.
Ridden by Jimmy Coates for owner Chad Poulsen and trainer Chris Mitchell, the 7-year-old gelding overcame a bump at the start and battled for the lead before digging in late to win by a neck. He completed the 400-yard event in 20.312 seconds, earning an 82 speed index.
Bred by Ron and Laurie Moosman, Western Dynasty is sired by Jr Dynasty Mountain and out of the Special Leader mare A Western Leader. He now has a record of 29-8-3-2 and career earnings of $62,606. The victory marked his first stakes win after finishing third in the 2025 Wyoming Bred Classic Stakes.
Fastest qualifier Feature Mr Rabbit rallied late to finish second under jockey Cesar Moreno for owner and trainer Calli VanTassell. The 5-year-old gelding chased the early pace before making a late bid to secure the runner-up position by a nose, stopping the clock in 20.358 seconds and earning an 81 speed index.
Bred by Uriel Lucero, Feature Mr Rabbit is sired by Pappasito and out of the Feature Mr Jess mare Feature Ms Bunny. He now has a record of 25-6-4-0 and earnings of $61,590. Still in search of his first stakes victory, he finished fourth in the Wyoming Bred Classic Stakes earlier this season and was a finalist in the 2025 Sweetwater Downs Governors Handicap.
Version T finished third under jockey Mynor Arana for owner and trainer Calli VanTassell. The 4-year-old gelding overcame a troubled start and battled near the lead before being outfinished in the closing strides. He completed the distance in 20.362 seconds, earning an 80 speed index.
Bred by Uriel Lucero, Version T is sired by Winners Version and out of the Coronado Cartel mare Ud Plain Jane. He now has a record of 16-2-5-1 and career earnings of $33,411.
