TULSA, OK–JULY 6, 2024–Toastin Heros scoots in to break his maiden for a big win and sets the time to beat in the last of eight trials to the $200,074 Speedhorse Futurity [G3] on Saturday at Fair Meadows in Tulsa. Finals are to run on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Jockey Edwin Escobedo got the leg up aboard Toastin Heros in his wire-to-wire victory by a length over Candy Flood. The Oklahoma-bred gelding clocked a 94 speed index in :17.748 seconds and the 350-yard upset paid $12.00 to win on 5/1 odds.

Trainer Clint Crawford saddled the son of Valiant Hero for owner/breeder Gene Cox. He has lit the board in all three starts with one win and two seconds, earning $13,383. Toastin Heros is out of Toastin With Coronas by Coronas Leaving You.

Jockey Jesus Salazar piloted Ima Fancy Eye Opener to victory in the second trial of the evening with a wire-to-wire win in :17.839 seconds over Red Iron. The post-time favorite clocked a 92-speed index, which paid 3.20 to win on 1/2 odds.

Trained and bred by Rhonda Valdivia, Ima Fancy Eye Opener has won his last four of five career starts, including the Easy Jet Stakes [G3] at Remington Park in May. The son of Ima Fancy Pyc has earned $76,639 for owners Shania and Terry Dale Cox.

Ima Fancy Eye Opener was bred in Oklahoma out of the Mr Eye Opener mare Lil Miss Eye Opener.
