SELMA, TX–MARCH 5, 2025–A pair of TQHA Yearling Sale graduates, sired by multiple stakes sire This Is An Eagle, posted the top two times from eight training races for 2-year-olds conducted over 250 yards on Wednesday at Retama Park.

Dc Is A Jeez, a $13,000 repurchase racing for owner Francisco Guerrero, kicked off the day by posting the fastest clocking of 13.63 seconds in Race 1. Trainer Martin Rodriguez saddled the sorrel colt from the five-time winner Jeez, by Oak Tree Special, is a half-sibling to 2 ROM.

This is the family of Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner Redman Running and Oklahoma Bred Futurity winner Lota Pyc.

Trainer Jose Sanchez III saddled his second winner on the card in Race 4 when Spott posted the second-fastest time of 13.856. Last July, Catarino Terrazas and Jesus Verduzco paid $20,000 for the This Is An Eagle gelding at the TQHA Sale.

Bred from the Truley First Class mare Sams First Girl, Spott is a half-sibling to six winners, including TQHA Sires' Cup Futurity(RG2) runner-up Sammy Joe. This is the family of Grade 1-placed Bf Neutron Dance.

Second-crop sire Chilitos was the only other sire with multiple winners on Wednesday, also siring two. Trainers Martin Rodriguez and John Stinebaugh joined Sanchez with two winners apiece.
