Th Alota Rip Rallies For First Stakes Victory In $70,000 Future Of Iowa Stakes

Th Alota Rip rallied from the back of the field to earn her first career stakes victory Saturday in the $70,000 Future Of Iowa Stakes at Prairie Meadows.

Ridden by Giovany Estrada, Th Alota Rip came from sixth to get up by a nose over favored Prize Flyter in the 350-yard event. She stopped the clock in :17.912, earning an 83 speed index over a muddy track. Imma Southern Bell finished another head back in third.

A homebred for David Morehead and trained by Manuel Campos, Th Alota Rip is by Rip Tide, out of the Lota Pyc mare Cr Lota Girl.

Marking her third consecutive victory, the 4-year-old filly improved her record to three wins, three seconds and one third from 12 starts. The $34,300 winner's share boosted her earnings to $76,480. Saturday's victory marked her first stakes win after she was a finalist in last year's Future Of Iowa Stakes.

Prize Flyter crossed the wire second under Miguel Ramirez for owner LXXI Racing Stables and trainer Lane Johnston. Bred by Craig Kirby, the 4-year-old filly is by Flying Cowboy 123, out of the Tac It Like A Man mare Fast Prize Tacita.

Prize Flyter now has a record of four wins, three seconds and two thirds from 12 starts, with earnings of $144,858. Winner of the 2024 Jim Bader Futurity, she finished fourth in the Cy-Hawk Stakes and was a finalist in last year's Future Of Iowa Stakes.

Imma Southern Bell finished third under Luis Ramirez for owners and breeders Ricky Neff and Tony Jones, who also trains the 4-year-old filly. She is by Go To The Gravel, out of the Southern Cartel mare Southernrunaway.

Imma Southern Bell improved her record to five wins, one second and two thirds from 12 starts, with earnings of $122,587. Her stakes victories include the Iowa Stallion Futurity and Iowa Stallion Derby.

Kwik Fast Prize, Foxy Cowgirl and Deluxe Diva completed the order of finish.
