Tell Knockout and Where Is The Party Win Rocky Mountain Futurity & Derby Consolations
AURORA, CO–SEPTEMBER 27, 2024–Race 4, the $14,000 Rocky Mountain Futurity Consolation, and race 8, the $14,000 Rocky Mountain Derby Consolation, were hosted at Arapahoe Park on Friday afternoon. The$83,500 Rocky Mountain Futurity and $70,300 Rocky Mountain Derby will be held on Sunday, September 29.
Rocky Mountain Futurity Consolation
Tell Knockout, ridden by Jonathan Dominguez, scored her second career victory in the $14,000 Rocky Mountain Futurity Consolation. She was much the best with her wire-to-wire victory by 3/4 of a length over Streakinlady Jess. The daughter of Tell Cartel clocked a 90-speed index in 17.239 seconds against a six mph headwind. The 330-yard effort paid $6.00 to win.
Trainer Fernando Manriquez-Garay saddled Tell Knockout for owner-breeder George Seward of Colorado. The sorrel filly has lit the board five of seven starts with two career wins, and the $8,400 payday boosted her earnings to $24,010. She is out of Ms Jess Knockout by Apollitical Jess.
Streakinlady Jess, ridden by Valente, placed second and Moonin Aces R Foreva, with Manuel Meza in the irons, placed third.

Rocky Mountain Derby Consolation
With jockey Martin Lazalde in the saddle, Where Is The Party broke her maiden in the $14,000 Rocky Mountain Derby Consolation. The three-year-old filly broke last from the gates but took the lead at the wire for a half-length victory over Howlin At The Moon.
Where Is The Party clocked an 87-speed index in 18.195 seconds, and the major upset paid $34.00 to win on 10-1 odds. Howlin at The Moon, ridden by Manuel Meza, placed second followed by Unwavering and Jayden Ironeyes in third.
Bred and owned in Colorado by Hugo Barron-Sierra, Where Is The Party is out of Corona For You by Corona For Me. The lightly raced daughter of Flare For Ivory has one win from four starts, and the $8,400 winner's share of the purse increased her earnings to $11,184.
Edy Ontiveros saddled runner-up Howlin At The Moon, who has three wins and earned $35,104 for owner La Despedida Racing LLC. Dunn Ranch bred the daughter of Moonin The Eagle in Oklahoma out of Really A Corona by Corona Cartel.
